Using a qualitative approach and case study design, this research explores students' responses to the use of EducaPlay to evaluate their understanding in the foundations of mathematics course. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and classroom observations of 21 Makassar State University students involved in the use of the EducaPlay platform in the foundations of mathematics course. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that students responded positively to gamification in the evaluation of learning the foundations of mathematics. The use of EducaPlay increases motivation, engagement, and understanding of the material, and reduces anxiety related to conventional evaluation. However, there were some technical issues, such as internet connection problems that affected the learning experience. Overall, the results of this study conclude that EducaPlay can be an effective evaluation tool, provided technical issues can be overcome. This research suggests that the use of gamification in mathematics learning evaluation can be expanded to enhance students' learning experience in a more interactive and fun way.
2025-05-01T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Akademik Pendidikan Matematikahttps://ejournal.lppmunidayan.ac.id/index.php/matematika/article/view/1816Pengaruh Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Diskursus Multi Representasi (DMR) Berorientasi Masalah Kontekstual terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Siompu2025-04-28T12:17:15+08:00Nur Azmian Riskariskanurazmian@gmail.comErnawati Jaisernawatijais@unidayan.ac.idHerlawan Herlawanherlawan@unidayan.ac.id
The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the contextual problem-oriented DMR learning model on the mathematical communication abilities of grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Siompu. The population of this research is all even semester class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Batauga for the 2023/2024 academic year, totaling 160 students divided into 5 classes. The sampling technique in this research was cluster random sampling technique, one class was chosen for the experimental class with Search Solve Create Share (SSCS) model learning, namely class X 3 and one class for the control class with direct learning model, namely class X 5. Collection technique the data in this study used a questionnaire after the learning process using the SSCS model and giving essay tests at the beginning and end of learning in each sample class. Data analysis technique use Descriptive Analysis and Inferential Analysis (Prerequisite Test (Normality Test and Homogeneity Test) and Hypothesis Test (Independent Sample T-Test)). Based on the results of the descriptive analysis, a picture of the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the SSCS learning model showed an increase in the average score of 0.447. This means that the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the SSCS learning model are better than the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the direct learning model with an average increase of 0.190. The results of the Normality Test and Homogeneity Test analysis show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneous, then Hypothesis Testing is carried out where the t-test results obtain a significance value of 0.001, this is less than 0.05 so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This low literacy level affects students' readiness to adapt to technological developments and future labor market demands. This study aims to analyze students’ numeracy literacy in solving problems related to measures of central tendency using the Pull out photo math box integrated with augmented reality technology as an interactive and engaging visual learning medium. This study employed a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques included a numeracy literacy test administered to 29 eighth-grade students from class VIII-B at SMP N 1 Trangkil, as well as interviews with two students each from high, medium, and low numeracy literacy categories. Data analysis was carried out in four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed that in solving statistical problems, particularly those involving measures of central tendency, students with high numeracy literacy were able to meet all indicators of numeracy literacy. Students in the medium category were able to use numbers and interpret necessary data, were fairly competent in using mathematical symbols, and reasonably fluent in solving problems, but were not yet able to draw complete and accurate conclusions. Meanwhile, students with low numeracy literacy could use numbers and identify required data, but had difficulty using symbols correctly, were not fluent in problem-solving, and were unable to make complete and accurate conclusions.
2025-05-15T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Akademik Pendidikan Matematika
