LAJU EKSPLOITASI SUMBERDAYA IKAN KERAPU DI PERAIRAN TELUK LASONGKO, KABUPATEN BUTON, SULAWESI TENGGARA

Ikan kerapu memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi dan merupakan salah satu predator utama di ekosistem terumbu karang. Permintaan pasar terhadap ikan ini menyebabkan penurunan populasi kerapu alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkirakan tingkat eksploitasi sumberdaya ikan kerapu di Teluk Lasongko. Laju eksploitasi diukur berdasarkan data panjang total ikan kerapu di Teluk Lasongko.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju eksploitasi ikan kerapu tikus (Cromileptes altivelis), kerapu macan (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus), kerapu lumpur (E. coioides) dan kerapu sunu (Plectropomus leopardus), berturut-turut adalah 0,51 tahun-1; 0,53 tahun-1; 0,52 tahun-1; 0,51 tahun-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju eksploitasi semua spesies kerapu telah mencapai tingkat optimumnya, namun penurunan populasinya disebabkan oleh kerusakan habitat di lokasi penelitian. Program rehabilitasi karang harus dilakukan dalam meningkatkan tutupan terumbu karang di Teluk Lasongko.
