Abstract

The research problem in this study is whether the method of giving assignments affects the improvement of student learning outcomes in eighth-grade social studies at SMP Negeri 3 Batu Atas. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which assignment-giving methods influence the improvement of student learning outcomes in eighth-grade social studies at SMP Negeri 3 Batu Atas.

The type of research used in this study employs a quantitative correlation method. The instruments and data collection techniques used include observation, questionnaires, and document study. The analysis technique used calculates the correlation coefficient between the two variables.

Based on the results of the study regarding the Effect of the Assignment Method on Improving Student Learning Outcomes in Social Studies for Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Batu Atas, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the assignment method and student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.62, which is considered high, indicating a positive relationship between the assignment method and student learning outcomes. The coefficient of determination (r²) of 38.44% indicates that the assignment method contributes to improving student learning outcomes, while the remaining influence is attributed to other factors. This research is beyond the scope of this study. Therefore, implementing a structured and systematic method of assigning assignments can be an effective strategy for improving student learning outcomes.
