Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study was how much influence did self-confidence have on student learning achievement in Economics subject in class X at SMA Negeri 2 Pasarwajo? The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-confidence on student learning achievementin Economics subject in class X at SMA Negeri 2 Pasarwajo. This research was a survey research. The population in this study were students of class X IPS 1 and X IPS 2, tataling 47 students. Samples were taken using a saturated sample technique with a total sample of 47 students. The instruments and data collection used were questionnaires and documnentatition. The data analysis technique used was simple linear regression Y over X.The results of the study can be explained that based on the results of simple linear regression, the equation for the effect of self-confidence on student learning achievement in Economics subject in class X a SMA Negeri 2 Pasarwajo is Y =29.16+ 0,26. This equation shows that there is a moderate influence between the variables of self-confidence and learning achievement with a coefficient of 0,26 or a value of b is positive. From the analysis of the product moment correlation coefficient, the value of r = 0,54 is obtained. This shows that there is a positive effect of self-confidence on the learning achievement of class X students at SMA Negeri 2 Pasarwajo or there is an adequate relationship between self-confidence and student learning achievement in Economics subject in class X at SMA Negeri 2 Pasarwajo is shown by the results of a determination coefficient of 29,16. This indicates that self-confidence is 29,16 and the influenced by other factors not examined.
