PENGARUH JARAK TEMPUH SISWA KE SEKOLAH TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA DI SEKOLAH SMP NEGERI 16 BUTON TENGAH

Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study: 1) how much influence the student mileage to school had on student achievement at SMP Negeri 16 Buton Tengan and 2) how much was the correlation between student mileages to school and student achievement at SMP Negeri 16 Buton Tengah. This study aimed to determine: 1) the influence the student`s mileage to school had on student achievement in SMP Negeri 16 Buton Tengah and 2) the correlation between student mileage to school and  student achievement at SMP Negeri 16 Buton Tengah. The type of research used in this study was quantitative research. The population in this study were all students, totaling 121 students. Samples were taken using propotional random sampling  teachnique with a sampel of 31 students. The instruments and data collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. The analysis technique used was simple linear regression analysis and simple correlation analysis. The results of the study could be explained that: 1) based on the results of simple linear regression analysis, the equation for the effect of student mileage on student achievement in SMP Negeri 16 Buton Tengah was Y=60.446 + 0.490X; 2) based on the results of the calculation of a simple correlation formula, there was a correlation between student mileage and student achievement at SMP Negeri 16 Buton Tengah. From the calculation results obtained the value of rxy = 0.161. this showed that the positive influence of student mileage on student achievement was 0.161; and 3) the magnitude of the contribution of the student`s mileage relationship to student achievement was shown by the coefficient of determination (determinant) of 2.5%. The results showed that 2.5% student achievement was influenced by  distance traveled and the remaining 97.5% was influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
